Why join this workshop?
We live in a world that’s complex and often unjust. Maybe you’re trying to stay grounded, to be a good person, to care deeply but also finding it harder to care for yourself. Maybe you struggle to set clear boundaries without feeling guilty. Or you’re there for others, but tough on yourself…
If so, you are not alone. And there is another way. The Fierce Self-Compassion Workshop invites you to develop an inner strength that is both tender and powerful. Fierce Self-Compassion is the inner strength to stand up for yourself; not from anger, but from love. It’s a powerful blend of tenderness and courage. Of self-kindness that includes saying no when needed, to protect your energy, your values and your truth.
Inspired by the work of Dr. Kristin Neff, fierce self-compassion is the action-oriented side of self-compassion. Where tender self-compassion comforts and accepts, fierce self-compassion is the courage to stand up for yourself and others from love, not from anger or aggression.
What you'll learn
This course helps you integrate tender and fierce self-compassion so you can live with clarity, courage and connection. You’ll learn:
- Using self-compassion to protect, nurture and create change, rather than just soothe
- Practising how to speak up, set limits and hold your ground with kindness
- Moving away from turning anger inward (self-criticism) or outward (attacking others)
- Identifying your mental, emotional, physical and spiritual needs
- Letting go of the belief that you “need” self-criticism to improve
- Exploring how fierce compassion supports ethical courage and social justice
For who?
This workshop is for those who are already familiar with the basics of self-compassion. It is suitable if you have completed the Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) course, the MSC Intensive, or the MSC Core Skills Workshop.

Frequently asked questions
What is fierce self-compassion?
Fierce self-compassion is a form of inner strength that helps you speak up, set boundaries, and stand up for yourself when it matters. Not from anger, but from care. It is the energy that says: “My needs matter, my voice matters, my well-being matters.” Read more about fierce self-compassion.
What is the difference between fierce and tender self-compassion?
Most people are familiar with the gentle side of self-compassion: comforting ourselves, offering understanding, learning to be kinder inside. This is essential, but it’s not the whole story.
If we focus only on tenderness, we risk becoming passive or compliant, staying in unhealthy situations or silencing our needs. If we focus only on fierceness, we risk becoming harsh or defensive, pushing others away, or losing touch with our empathy. We need both.
Who is this fierce self-compassion workshop for?
This course is for you if you find it difficult to say no or ask for what you need, you tend to put others first (even at your own expense), you want to care about the world without becoming numb, cynical or burnt out, you long for inner steadiness and clarity in a world that often feels too much, you sense there is a stronger, kinder way to stand in your truth.
What to expect from this workshop?
While exact structure and format may vary, you can expect a safe, supportive group environment, guided meditations and experiential exercises, short talks on the principles of fierce self-compassion, reflection, journalling and sharing (always by invitation, never pressure), practical tools you can integrate into daily life. If you have any questions about the workshop, don’t hesitate to contact us.
Is there any suggested reading material

This book complements the course, especially for women and those socialised to be “nice” at the expense of their own needs.
