What? Two session workshop on advanced teaching skills for MSC teachers with a focus on screening and trauma sensitive teaching
When? November 17 & 18 from 7.00 - 9.00 pm
For who? Mindful self‐compassion teachers, psychologists, coaches, and everybody who works with people and/or teaches in groups
What you'll learn? You'll explore a unique screening method to help you assess course participants thoughtfully. This method allows you to consider who might be best suited for the course and who might benefit from alternative support. At the same time, we will delve into trauma sensitive teaching, drawing on the influential work of David Treleaven. Treleaven's insights guide us in creating a compassionate, safe learning environment that honors the experiences of all participants.
In this course, you will:
- Master a personalized screening method: Learn a practical approach to evaluating participants, ensuring your course becomes a space where each individual can thrive.
- Identify trauma triggers: Discover ways to recognize signs of trauma and understand how they may impact learning.
- Adopt trauma sensitive strategies: Develop adaptable teaching methods that create a safe, supportive space for individuals with trauma histories.
- Integrate mindfulness and self-compassion: Enhance your practice by incorporating mindfulness and self-compassion techniques, reinforcing a nurturing learning environment.
